Gary Jenkins is a lifelong resident of Scioto County, Ohio, and serves as the Scioto County Recorder. At 22 years old, he became the youngest county-level elected official in the State of Ohio, taking office on January 2, 2025.

 

A conservative Christian, Gary has deep roots in the community. He is committed to public service and focuses on ensuring accurate and accessible land records for Scioto County. His role involves managing property records, deeds, and other official documents, which he approaches with a dedication to efficiency and transparency.

 

Outside of his professional duties, Gary is an active member of the Scioto County community. He is a business owner and an entrepreneur, and he is a member of several community organizations including the Portsmouth Area Jaycees, Boy Scout Troop 43, the Camp Oyo Staff and Alumni Association, Rome Lodge #535 Free and Accepted Masons, and Faith Life Church. He regularly engages with local organizations, including speaking at events, sharing insights about his work and its importance to the county, and giving back to the community he calls home.
